The Trio Orelon, named after the Esperanto word for “ear,” stands for radical listening and an ensemble sound that seems to breathe as one: symphonically dense, homogeneous, and chamber-musically intense. Founded in Cologne, the trio brings together violinist Judith Stapf, Catalan cellist Arnau Rovira i Bascompte, and Italian pianist Marco Sanna. United by curiosity ranging from classical roots to contemporary music, they seek the greatest possible musical and human harmony in dialogue with their audience. In 2023, the trio won both the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the ARD International Music Competition.
